About this event

This Months Book Isaac's Storm: A Man, A Time, and the Deadliest Hurricane in History by Erik Larson

This is an historical non-fiction book that recounts the history of the 1900 hurricane in Galveston, Texas. This is the story of Isaac Cline, one of the U.S. pioneers in meteorology, and how his lack of preparedness resulted in the worse natural disaster in U.S. history. Using Cline’s own telegrams, letters, and reports, Erik Larson builds a chronical of one man’s heroic struggle and fatal miscalculation in the face of a storm of unimaginable magnitude.

The SAIL Book Club is open to all members of SAIL and meets on the third Wednesday of each month virtually. Please register online at SAIL or call if that’s not possible. Books are chosen by Book Club members that are readily available at the library and have been read and recommended by a member of the SAIL Book Club.
The next book is available after each discussion or delivered to you if needed.
