This Months Book Isaac's Storm: A Man, A Time, and the Deadliest Hurricane in History by Erik Larson
This is an historical non-fiction book that recounts the history of the 1900 hurricane in Galveston, Texas. This is the story of Isaac Cline, one of the U.S. pioneers in meteorology, and how his lack of preparedness resulted in the worse natural disaster in U.S. history. Using Cline’s own telegrams, letters, and reports, Erik Larson builds a chronical of one man’s heroic struggle and fatal miscalculation in the face of a storm of unimaginable magnitude.
