We extensively screen all potential vendors to ensure honesty, reliability, expertise, fair pricing, and overall positive customer relations. We also follow up to make sure you are pleased with the service. Plus, you are welcome to have the billing go through SAIL. The bottom line: we only choose vendors that we would allow in our own home. - Basic Beginning Computer Assistance
If you need assistance using the Internet, e-mail, or your computer in general, we will provide personal assistance in helping you sharpen these skills. - House Checks While You're Away
If you are planning time away from your home, SAIL will provide weekly house checks and plant watering at no charge. - Discount on SAIL S.O.S. Sense of Security Personal Emergency Response Pendant
SAIL members pay $18/month for this service, which includes hands-free, person to person communication 24/7with a trained operator and local follow up. One time installation fee is $55. Reduced rate available for those transferring to SAIL S.O.S. from another service. - One Phone Number to Call for Any Service
No matter which services you need, from plumbers to home care services, to a ride to a medical appointment, you only need to call one number. - Personal Health Coaching
With an emphasis placed on a prevention, you will have free access to a licensed pharmacist and/or parish nurse, both specialists in geriatric health. They will provide heath care education and counseling to answer questions, offer resources, provide guidance, and identify risks that lead to loss of independence. - Rise and Shine Daily Check-In Service
We offer a free automated daily check-in service for members who live alone. As a participant, you are provided with an easy way to make daily contact so we know every day that you are up and about. - Special Member Opportunities
You can participate in a variety of SAIL offerings, including two monthly book clubs fiction and non-fiction, Mattress Flip Day, Clean Sweep Pickup, Med Pickup, quarterly get-togethers, a Member Advisory Group, Madison Area Seniors Meetup Group, etc. - A Members Helping Members Style of Volunteerism
Being a SAIL member gives you easy access to a network of volunteers, as well as the opportunity to contribute your time and talents as a volunteer. Possible opportunities include member transportation, consultation or committee work, visitation/companionship, and office assistance. - Wellness and Educational Programs
A variety of programs and events are offered regularly. You will be informed about events being offered by SAIL, our partners, and associates in the community through our monthly newsletter and/or special mailings. Many of these focus on health and include topics such as: medications, fall prevention, brain health, etc. Others focus on community related topics and special interests. In addition to these wonderful programs we offer discounts on:
- MSCR Goodman-Rotary 50+ fitness classes Receive a 10% discount on classes by registering through SAIL. We will bill you for any classes minus 10%.
- Active Care An eight-week personalized fitness program which includes educational lunch talks held at Oakwood Village West. Active Care is led by a certified Personal Trainer and includes health screening and use of Oakwood's state of the art fitness center.
- Enriched Care A comprehensive geriatric assessment program in which you are at the center. Your personal health plan is created and focused on successfully managing chronic illnesses and reducing risks leading to loss of independence. The assessment is provided by professional staff at Oakwood Village led by Dr. Steven Barczi, MD, Associate Professor at the UW - Madison School of Medicine and Public Health, Division of Geriatrics.
- Home Health United Medical Store Receive a 35% discount on any supplies or equipment that is not Medicare covered. Store is locates at 4639 Hammersley Road in Madison.
- Monthly Newsletter
Our newsletter, the SAIL Messenger, is published each month and mailed to your home or sent electronically via e-mail. The newsletter contains updates, events, and pertinent information for our members. - Transportation Arrangements
SAIL members are eligible to receive transportation arranged through SAIL using volunteers (if available). If we are unable to find a volunteer driver, we can assist you in making arrangements with publicly sponsored transportation organizations or schedule a taxi, which you may pay for directly or have billed to your SAIL account. - Information and Referral to Community Agencies
We are familiar with the multitude of senior resources Dane County has to offer and are happy to link you to them. - One Monthly Statement for All Services Received
One monthly statement includes your membership fee and any charges incurred during that month. - Peace of Mind
While it is difficult to put a value on this, we all know that having peace of mind is good for everyone.
